Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia isn’t easy, and knowing how to help a loved one with dementia can be difficult. As her father’s Power of Attorney (POA), Marne reached out to Heartland Hospice for help. Several years later, she is still thanking Heartland for caring for her father and very grateful for the support.
“Our dad had Alzheimer's Disease and we made the decision to bring in Heartland Hospice care. It was the absolute best decision I had to make as his POA. Our dad passed away a little over two years ago now. However, to this day, I cannot express our gratitude to Heartland for treating Dad with dignity and respect! Your professionalism and dedication to not only our dad, but also to our entire family, assured us that our decisions were upheld and that we were supported. Working together as a team allowed our dad to pass in peace. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful care that was provided to our family and to Dad. We cannot thank you enough for treating him like a human being and not a disease. For that, we are forever indebted to you! My advice to anyone contemplating the use of hospice care for your loved one with Alzheimer's Disease is to get Heartland Hospice involved. You will not be disappointed!”
