Every day, Heartland has the distinct honor of providing hundreds of U.S. military veterans with hospice care. We take pride in recognizing our veteran patients with certificates, pinning ceremonies and other special ways to show our appreciation for their service on behalf of all Americans.
Heartland Hospice serving Northeastern Wisconsin hosted a “Vet-to-Vet Café” at the Veteran’s Memorial, Inc., Post 63 in Clintonville. The event offered area veterans a chance to socialize and learn about veteran-related resources available to them in the area.
Representatives from Aster Senior Communities, Heartland Home Health & Hospice, Arc Angels and Green Tree Health & Rehab shared their capability in caring for veterans. After the presentations, veterans were recognized, pinned and thanked for their service by Heartland. “Hosting the Vet-to-Vet Café is a great way to educate the Veterans that live in the area, and also allows them to bond with each other. A lot of people do not know about what is available right down the street. This gives these Veterans, who are so deserving, the resources to receive the care that they need,” said Dori Sterkenburg, Heartland Hospice Account Liaison.
