Heartland Hospice Hosts Holiday Workshop to Create Necktie Angels

Heartland Hospice serving Raleigh-Durham held a Christmas Remembrance Craft Workshop to help participants create special Necktie Angels to remember a loved one who has passed. Participants were asked to bring a necktie to the workshop. The Heartland team helped participants create a beautiful angel ornament that can be used as holiday decoration.

“It is so important to provide healthy, safe spaces for grieving people to remember their loved ones who have died,” explains Kristin Lassiter, Heartland Bereavement Coordinator. “Allowing someone the opportunity to share a special item that belonged to the one they loved – that’s a gift,” adds Kristin. “I loved watching these ladies work together, talk about their husbands, and laugh about some of the ties they hated! It is a privilege to witness that kind of healing as it takes place.”
