Every day, Heartland has the distinct honor of providing hundreds of U.S. military veterans with hospice care. We take pride in recognizing our veteran patients with certificates, pinning ceremonies and other special ways to show our appreciation for their service on behalf of all Americans.
Heartland Hospice serving Central Maryland/Baltimore Metro Area held a Veteran Recognition Ceremony to recognize and thank veteran patients for their service. The Heartland team joyfully awarded patient, Russell, with a certificate of appreciation and commemorative medals of gratitude for his service in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.
Russell was joined by his two brothers, Harold who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Berkley “Lewis” who served in the U.S. Air Force. The ceremony facilitated to render the overdue recognition they all deserved for the commitment that each of them provided our county.
Natalie Frahler, Heartland Hospice Volunteer, is currently enlisted in the U.S. Navy, CTN3 (IW), E4 and presented a framed certificate on behalf of Heartland Hospice to Russell. Russell’s grandchildren and other family members placed branch medals of gratitude upon each of the distinguished honorees. Poignant storytelling and testimonials were shared by the veterans and their guests, creating an unforgettable experience for all those gathered there in joy.
