Heartland Hospice Unites with Local Church and Florist to Deliver Flowers to Patients

article-hero-image

With the help of Life Church and Heartland Hospice serving Northeastern Wisconsin, Nature’s Best Floral & Boutique, a local florist, was able to deliver flowers from canceled events to hospice patients. The florist reached out to their local church pastor, Scott Eastman, with Life Church to help find a good home for all the beautiful bouquets they had no room for and would go bad. Scott was aware of the restrictions to visit facilities and knew his niece, Jenny Rae Wallace, social worker with Heartland Hospice, could help with giving these flowers to people who would enjoy their beauty and a note reminding them, “You are Loved! We’re thinking of you”. Jenny contacted Allouez Parkside Village, where Heartland cares for hospice patients, and asked them if she could bring flowers in for the patients and they enthusiastically said yes!

Scott picked up the flowers from the florist and brought them to Heartland’s office. Later, Nicole Porter, RN case manager, and Jenny visited Allouez Parkside Village facility to drop off the flowers for Heartland Hospice patients along with other patients at the facility. The patients were so happy for the beautiful flowers from Nature’s Best Floral & Boutique, Life Church and Heartland Hospice.
