Lou admitted to ManorCare for skilled nursing and intensive therapy after experiencing cardiac complications.
"My journey started in October of last year when my heart started acting up. Since then, it has been a roller coaster ride with my medical status. It almost seemed as if every step I took to get better actually lead to another complication - that is until I found ManorCare Health Services - Pewaukee. For the first time in almost a year, I can finally say that I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Prior to my stay at ManorCare, I had never been to a skilled nursing facility. Needless to say, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. The first few days brought upon a whirlwind of emotions, but luckily I was quickly able to adapt to the environment thanks to the accommodating staff. Even my roommates were amazing! They paired me with some great guys that have turned into lifelong friends. I couldn't believe how involved the administrative staff was. Everyone all around knew my name and never passed me by in the hall without a smile. The therapy staff was phenomenal and the nursing care was excellent, especially once they get to know you and all of your needs. They all have tough jobs, but everyone at ManorCare really went above and beyond to make me feel at home when I was in such a vulnerable stage in my life. Now after just one month of rehab at ManorCare - Pewaukee, I'm walking on my own two feet, stronger than ever." - Lou
